Sri Lanka Tourism is decorating Colombo with festive lights this December, building on last year's successful city illumination. The light displays aim to enhance the capital's holiday atmosphere during the peak tourism season.
From December 15, 2022 to January 2, 2023, key zones in Colombo will sparkle with decorative lighting. Specific areas include the routes from Kingsbury Hotel to Galle Face Green, Galle Face Roundabout to Colpetty Junction, and Liberty Plaza to Bambalapitiya.
The illumination project supports Sri Lanka Tourism's initiative to elevate urban tourism experiences for holiday travelers. A vibrant, celebratory ambiance will complement the destination's existing attractions and hospitality. The initiative also aligns with Sri Lanka's new branding "You'll Come Back for More," conveying memorable experiences that compel return visits.
By spotlighting Colombo as a dynamic destination, the light displays look to engage both international visitors and locals. Sri Lanka Tourism plans to continue the holiday tradition annually, boosting Colombo's reputation as a must-see spot for winter festivals and celebrations.
The strategic lighting displays aim to spotlight Sri Lanka as a top-of-mind holiday destination and travel hotspot this December and into 2023.
